Comprehensive Training
Pilates Works ® is a complete system synergizing of breath, control, centreness, strength and tone; achieved by this neuromuscular technique - emphasizing spine achieved by "core" abdominals and stabilization through the pelvic sphere.
The Comprehensive Training Pilates Works ®, practical and theoretical courses will prepare you to teach the complete Mat and tension-resistant equipment effectively and give you the confidence to succeed as a teacher of the Pilates Works ® method.

PRE-REQUISITES:
A Dance, Kinesiology, Physio-Therapy or Bodywork Background:
Familiarity with Pilates is Required.

Pilates Works ® program is recognized by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, for Continuing Education Units (CEU's). Mat and Reformer Apparatus Pilates Works ® :

MAT AND REFORMER MACHINE APPARATUS
COURSE CONTENTS
COURSE "A"

  • Complete PILATES WORKS ® Mat and Reformer Machine Apparatus
  • Principles of Breathing, Centering, Control, Balance
  • Alignment of Gait Mechanics
  • Movement and Muscular Initiations and Applications of the Syllabus
  • Breakdown of foundation to Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Workouts
  • Postural Analysis and Intake Protocol
  • Communication skills, including:-Imagery, Cueing, Tone, Pacing and Dynamics
  • Modifications according to Body Types
  • Includes 20 Hours of Functional Anatomy
  • 140 Hours of Instruction and Supervised Teaching
  • 60 Hours Apprenticeship Teaching + case study
  • Pilates Works ™ falls under Category B for the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario; 1 CEU every 2 hours for Mat and Reformer Apparatus Course

COURSE "B"
PRE-REQUISITES:
SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED PILATES WORKS ® COURSE "A" TRAINING INCLUDING ALL APPRENTICESHIP HOURS

  • Complete PILATES WORKS ® syllabus On the Cadillac/Rack Table:- Chair:- Ladder Barrel:- and Various Smaller Barrels:- Including Breakdown on these different apparatuses.
  • Communication skills, including:-Imagery, Cueing, Tone, Pacing and Dynamics
  • 200 Hours Instruction + supervised teaching
  • 50 Hours Apprenticeship Teaching + case study
  • 10 Hours of Functional Anatomy (Special Body Types)
  • Knowledge and Functional Studio Procedures

Therapeutic Application/Modification covering:- Back Problems, and/or Trauma to Spinal Cord:- Arthritis:- Hip Injuries and Replacements:- Knee Injuries and/or Replacements:- Neck and Shoulder Problems


TESTS
REQUIREMENTS FOR FULL CERTIFICATION

  • A written and Practical test will be required:-
  • A Certificate from PILATES WORKS ® will be issued upon successful completion of Courses "A" and "B" Plus all Applicable Hours inclusive - (no later than one month after completion of the course)
  • A Fee will apply for all tests
  • Complete Programs "A" and "B"
  • Mat and Reformer Machine Apparatus Course "A" available, please enquire
  • Maximum 10 Students per Course
  • Location:- training Conducted at PILATES WORKS ® Center in Downtown Oakville, Ontario, Canada

HOW TO APPLY:-
Candidates must complete an application form upon request and include a Curriculum Vitae, detailing their experience related to above Pre-Requisites mentioned. A Letter of reference and a recent photograph along with a deposit fee of $200.00 Canadian, which is non-refundable/non-transferable once the course confirmation has been made. All Fees must be paid in full two weeks prior to the course start date. Space will only be reserved upon the receipt of all application materials and deposit.
